Becoming a Part-Time Loan Officer with ReverseMortgageOne, Inc.
What will I do and what training is needed?
ReverseMortgageOne, Inc. is looking for people in California and who enjoy helping seniors. You can work from your home and control your own hours. It will probably be part-time unless you get very good at it or work 8 hours a day. All you need is a computer and internet access. If you can email, are somewhat familiar with the internet, and most importantly, are willing to call leads back, then you will enjoy working with us. No license or experience is required, but you will need to go through a criminal background check and take our loan officer training program which can be done over the internet in a few hours. It is not very complicated and we are a small enough company that we can help you along the way.
Your primary responsibilities will be developing your own leads, calling back leads that have called our lead provider and have shown an interest in getting a reverse mortgage and giving them the basic information about reverse mortgages. So, it is very important that you enjoy talking to seniors on the phone and that you are good at following up. If you tell them you will call back in a week, you need to make sure you do that. Then, if a borrower(s) wants to apply for a reverse mortgage, you will prepare their application and either take it to there residence to help them complete it or assign a loan officer in their area to meet with them.
You Need to Provide One Lead That Turns into a Closed Loan First.
To become a part-time loan officer with us you must first provide one referral that turns into a closed and funded loan. This could be your own reverse mortgage (we have one loan officer who joined us and initially did a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage. A year later he refinanced with an Independence Plan). If the loan you bring to us is your own, you will receive a $2,000 discount for that loan.
What will I be paid?
For leads that you call on and which eventually close and fund, you will receive $350 after the loan has funded. For applications you go out and take (help the senior fill out and explain the program to) you will receive $600 for each one that closes after it has funded. If you develop a loan from your own sources then the commission will be based on a % of the amount ReverseMortgageOne, Inc. nets, but in CA it would be around $3,000+-. You will be paid on a commission basis for each loan that closes and you will receive a W-2 at the end of the year.
